EGI

Electrolytically Galvanized Steel Sheets (EGI)

It is produced by electrogilding zinc with cold-rolled steel sheets (CR) to enhance corrosion resistance. Though it has less zinc gilded than hot-dip galvanized steel sheets (GI), the gilded layer is even and the surface is clean and easy on the eye. Since the gilding is done at a low temperature, it maintains its mechanical characteristics of cold-rolled steel sheets (CR).

Characteristics
  • In press forming, there are fewer powdering and cracks of the gilded layer than hot-dip galvanized sheets, which makes the molding process safer.
  • If it is used as a base plate for painting, it has a better appearance than hot-dip galvanized sheets and has better corrosion resistance than cold-rolled steel sheets.
  • It has less zinc gilded and the gilded layer is even, it is easier to weld than hot-dip galvanized sheets.
  • Though zinc gilding is adjustable according to it application, considering economical efficiency and application characteristics, mainly less than 30g/m2 on one-side is being used.
  • Various post processing options such as chrome-free, phosphate and fingerprint resistance resin are available.
Applications
  • Home appliances parts, computers and office equipment, DISPLAY, satellite receiver, fire door, base plate, safety fence, auto parts, motor curve, switchboard case, etc.
